SAVED A LIFE TODAY

I come home from taking care of an out-of-town friend's cat when I hear squeaks by the front door. It's coming from an outside storage area, a shed. I open up the shed door to find a BABY SQUIRREL on the ground!! It's tiny and moving around. I hear some rustling over my head to find an adult squirrel (the mommie?) looking dow at us! I run inside to take the little guy's picture and then shut the door so that I don't interrupt the squrriel's business in my shed. I call a good friend to tell them a baby squirrel is in my shed!

Odd. For a few weeks I've noticed wood shavings piling up in the shed but only now do I see the reason! I guess the beastie was making a nest up there or something. There is a hole in the ceiling of the shed!

About an hour goes by and I open the door to check on the progress of mommie squirrel and her baby. It's still there! Oh shit! I guess mommy can't jump down, grab the baby and get back up, can she? I don't want this little guy to die... especially in a spot where I'd have to clean up the body! I don't want a bunch of ants to feast on this little guy!

I gotta get him back up to his mom. I'm scared that if I get my human stink on the creature, mommie won't want anything to do with her baby. I'm also scared of that m*** f*** biting me while I try to get the baby into the area between the shed ceiling and the roof!

I grab a towel, pick up the little guy, stand on something and push him into the hole. I can still hear mommie squirrel up there! I stand there with my towel in the hole and pull away in time to see mommie squirrel clutching her baby! She takes off and I treat myself to some chocolate pudding!

I SAVED A LIFE TODAY!
